| About Us
While we applaud Habitat for Humanity for their work we are not
affiliated with them, we had been building homes many years before
they were conceived.
Pete Peterson started Habitat Construction in the mid 70’s and
built spec. Homes until the early 80’s when interest rates went
through the roof. Some of you old timers may remember the billboard
saying “Last one out of Seattle please turn out the lights”. During
this period Habitat Construction spent most of it’s energy
remodeling and forming concrete. |

After building his own home near Anacortes on Fidalgo Island, he
has been more than happy to concentrate his efforts there.
The Isles, his latest project is a combination of craftsman mixed with some Asian and other styles. Pete muses "my style is Swasian, I'm Swede but I love Asian touches especially in the landscape. The realtors have dubbed Pete's work as San Jaun style. These 17 homes are clustered around a community center with beautiful landscaping that includes a waterfall. The slate floors, natural hemlock wainscotting, granite counter tops, and amazing views gives one the feel of a vacation bungalow. |
